The main difference is the production process and the ingredients within the oil.
Tincture:
Made with Alcohol to extract from herbs
Use of alcohol is effective at extracting cannabinoids from plant matter
Cannabis tinctures are made by dissolving plant material into a liquid medium, then straining the plant matter out leaving behind only cannabis-infused liquid. Once mixed together, the mixture is left to sit for some time allowing the ingredients to properly blend together.
Ingredients are usually added to enhance flavor.
Infused Oil:
The oil is infused with herbs
Includes extract and a carrier oil
Made up of base oils and carriers
MCT oil absorbs cannabinoids better then alcohol
Tastes more earthy
- They can be used in the same ways and have similar effects. When choosing which is best for you, it is usually determined by ingredients one may wish to avoid like glycerin found in tinctures.
